Does a Changeling gain a condition for making a
breaking point check just like a mortal does?
Yes. If a potential source of clarity damage is a
breaking point (i.e. the source is not explicitly referred to as a ‘Clarity
Attack’) The Changeling receives either the Guilty,
Shaken or Spooked Condition, whichever is most appropriate if they do not
roll a Dramatic Failure on their breaking point roll.
If the Changeling rolls an exceptional success on a
breaking point roll they instead receive either the Broken, Fugue or Madness condition and receives a beat.
Can a Changeling turn a Failure on a breaking point
roll to Dramatic Failure to gain a beat?
Yes. You can only do this once per session if you have
not already claimed a beat for turning a Failure into a Dramatic failure.
What are Regalia?
Regalia is a new concept in Changeling for organising
Arcadian Contracts. Arcadian Contracts are no longer organised into a chain of
similar powers such as “Stone” or “Vainglory” and are instead grouped into six
thematic groupings:
Crown: Leadership and Rulership (Fairest)
Jewel: Manipulation and Temptation (Wizened)
Mirror: Perception and Self-transformation (Darkling)
Shield: Defence and Protection (Ogre)
Steed: Movement both Seen and Unseen (Beasts)
Sword: Strength and Aggression (Elemental)
Changelings get two Regalia (one tied to their Seeming
and one tied to their Keeper). Characters may purchase any Arcadian Contract without
having to buy another contract as a prerequisite. Furthermore, if the Contract
is from one of their favoured regalia’s then they may purchase the Contract
costs less Experiences to sign and do not require a teacher.
Arcadian Contracts?
Arcadian Contracts are the primary of three groupings
in contracts (Arcadian, Goblin and Court) and represent powers bargained for by
the True Fae. There are no restrictions for a Changeling to sign an Arcadian
Contract. However some Conditions such as Goblin
Queen can prevent a character from using Arcadian Contracts.
Goblin Contracts represent power brokered by Hobs and
the Denzin’s of the Hedge. These can only be signed with the aid of a Goblin
Broker and their use accrues Goblin Debt.
Court Contracts are powers that the Lost of old
brokered with their court’s ruling Element. These can be signed by anyone
possessing Mantle in that court, though a Changeling must be Mantle 3 or higher
to sign any of the Courts Royal Contracts.
Royal Contracts?
Both Arcadian and Court Contracts are divided between
Common and Royal Contracts. Royal Contracts cost more experiences to Sign and
represent the equivalent of 4 and 5 dot contracts from first edition.
Is there a List of contracts anywhere?
A full list of contracts for this chronicle can be
found here:
We will be bringing printed out mechanics to the
Stating session.
And this Goblin Debt you mentioned?
Goblin Debt replaces the drawback to Goblin Contracts
from 1st Ed. A summary of how Goblin debt works can be found below.
What Entitlements (if any) are available this
Chronicle.
We are currently not intending to include Entitlements,
however we may review this decision once the Changeling Storytellers Guide from
the Kickstarter stretch goals is released.
How exactly does the Draconic Kith’s Glamour spend
work?
A Draconic may spend a Glamour and for the turn to
receive the following benefits:
1 A Number of
levels of Lethal damage received this turn equal to the Draconic’s Wyrd are
automatically downgraded to Lethal.
2 During the
turn that the Kith Blessing is activated the Draconic’s unarmed attacks do
Lethal damage.
If this ability is used at least once then for the rest of
the scene the Draconic can add their Wyrd to all intimidation rolls.
What Kith is the dedicated healing Kith?
Depends on what exactly you mean. If you are looking at
conventional medicine then the Leechfingers passive ability is probably the
most useful. If you are looking for supernatural healing the Playmate Kith
allows you to reflexively heal Bashing and Lethal on an ally at the cost of
taking Clarity damage equal to the number of levels healed.
Are there any restricted/Gain in play only Merits?
The following merits are Gain in play only and will require
IC justification to obtain:
·
Alternate Identity
·
Court Goodwill
·
Mantle above three
·
Noblesse Oblige
What are Motley Merits?
Merits tagged "Motley" can be purchased as a Motley;
any character that contributes dots to the total has access to the full,
combined amount. For example, Resources is a Motley Merit. If one character
contributes one dot, one contributes two dots, and one contributes zero dots,
the first and second characters have access to Resources •••, but the third
character does not have access to those Resources at all.
You can effectively increase a Merit above five dots through
this method. However, a character still only has access to five dots’ worth of
advantages. For example, if six characters each contribute Resources •, that
would technically be Resources ••••• •. However, each character only has access
to Resources •••••.
At Character creation a Motley may only have a number of
merit dots with the Motley tag equal to the number of members of the Motley. Moreover, no motley may start with any merit with
the Motley tag above two dots (regardless of how it is distributed on the Motleys
character sheets).
Motley Merits are as follows:
Allies (• to •••••, Motley)
Hollow (• to •••••, Motley)
Library (• to •••, Motley)
Resources (• to •••••, Motley)
Retainer (• to •••••, Motley)
Safe Place (• to •••••, Motley)
Staff (• to •••••, Motley)
Stable Trod (• to •••••, Motley)
Status (• to •••••, Motley)
Token (•+, Motley)
Workshop (• to •••••, Motley)
Is starting Experience at Character creation Mundane
or Wyrd Experience, and am I able to bank this experience?
The Three Experiences granted at Character creation
are considered to be Mundane Experiences. Any of these experiences not spent at
Character creation are lost.
